Miraflex Frames update

We are sad to report that Miraflex Export srl in Italy has made a difficult decision to close their operation and can no longer supply frames to their distribution partners in Europe, Middle East and Africa. In anticipation of the closure, we purchased significant stock to allow Dibble Optical to continue supplying Miraflex frames to opticians and eye hospitals throughout the UK and Ireland without disruption, although certain colours may be in short supply.

To affect a long-term solution, we have been in discussion with a USA-based organisation, who have produced an alternative to those frames identified as flexible and safe under the new brand name FlexFrames. We are delighted to have been appointed as their exclusive distribution partner for the UK and Ireland, effective immediately.

The new FlexFrames collection is almost identical to the highly popular flexible & safe frames but with some subtle enhancements. The frame groove will be deeper to improve lens retention, there are improvements to material flexibility and every frame will be available in the same 18 colours. Plus, we are also delighted that the popular frames with a modified nose bridge will be making a welcome return!

We shall be phasing in the new collection over the coming months to ensure continuity of supply. A new catalogue is currently being produced and will be made available on our website soon. There will be no changes to pricing.

In addition to our new signature FlexFrames and Milo & Me collections, we are excited to be introducing no fewer than two additional major children’s frame brands during autumn 2022. More news and a few surprises will follow in the coming months!
